Summer Jazz Workshop Schedule and a few other things

Here are the announcements from Annie Favors, the Workshop Coordinator, about the schedule for the rest of the year.

A Section:
The Saturday Jazz Workshops run from just after Labor Day to just before Memorial Day. The McRae Park building is closed on Saturdays during the summer. No, I don't understand that either. So there are only two Saturday workshops left before summer and then will resume again on 9/11/10. The Jazz Workshop will be meeting on Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:45 at McRae Park. This will start on 6/3/10 and will continue until the Thursday before Labor Day. For "budgetary reasons," the park will be closed on 6/10/10 and 8/26/10, so no sessions those weeks.

B Section:
The Jazz Workshop will be performing at the McRae Park Family Fun Day on 6/5/10. We don't know what time we'll be going on yet. Rehearsals for this event will be 5/15/10, 5/22/10 and 6/3/10. We'll be performing for probably about an hour.

The Freedom Jazz Festival may be happening again this year, pending getting funding, on 8/7/10 at Minnehaha Falls. The Jazz Workshop, being founded by Sam Favors who also founded the Festival, usually has a slot. Same Fiske is coordinating this with the FJF team and further information will be pending about this.
